Airplane crash in Alaska kills five

A small airplane crashed yesterday in southeast Alaska, killing five and injuring four. Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said that among the survivors is a two-year-old girl. Ketchikan Public Safety Director Rich Leipfert told the Ketchikan Daily News that three of the injured were transported to hospitals.

Leipfert also said that the plane, belonging to SeaWind Aviation, crashed into a tree at Traitors Cove, an area about 25 miles north of Ketchikan. SeaWind Aviation’s web site lists the aircraft as a deHavilland Beaver floatplane

Identifications of those killed or of those injured were not currently available. The bodies are to be recovered today due to inclement weather and darkness on Thursday.

The cause is under investigation. However, there were reportedly very high winds in the area at the time of the crash.

The aircraft involved in this accident is understood to be N345KA which was also involved in a crash in July 2000 whilst with a different owner. According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) report of the incident, the aircraft suffered substantial damage after its left wing struck a tree whilst attempting to take-off. The pilot, the only person on-board, was not injured. The NTSB determined that the probable cause of the accident was pilot error in inadequately compensating for the wind conditions.

Oil spilled after ships collide in Singapore

Oil spilled after ships collide in Singapore

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Around 2500 tonnes of oil were spilled into the Strait of Singapore today after two ships collided.

The two ships involved in the collision were the oil tanker MT Bunga Kelana 3 and the bulk ship MV Wally, which collided around thirteen kilometers south of Singapore. The tanker received an estimated ten meter gash on its left side, while the bulk ship sustained only minor damage. After the incident, both ships moved away from the spill and are now anchored.

The oil slick has moved north, and is now now encompassing an estimated four square kilometers around six kilometers south of Singapore. Emergency teams from both Singapore and Malaysia have been mobilized, and around twenty vessels are taking part in the clean-up operations. Both containment booms and chemical dispersants are being used to clean up the oil.

The spill is not expected to have any major effects on shipping; Victor Shum, an official from a consulting firm in Singapore, said that “[i]f it is contained within an oil retaining booms, it may not disrupt shipping traffic. There is no comparison. That one has really no limit at this stage.” Shum also expressed environmental concerns, saying that “certainly the concerns are there. Even if it is contained, it will take some time to clean up.”

No crew members from either of the ships involved were reported to be injured.

How To Write An Article Easily Using 7 Easy Steps}

By | April 29, 2017

Submitted by: Rey Albert

There must be some reason why some people seem to thrive in there article marketing and others dont. It would be fare to say that in my experience, if everyone learned how to write an article with a single purpose in mind and followed some simple strategic steps, the playing field would be leveled.

I believe everyone has a shot in this business if they learned how to do things right. The reason most people will not teach you these things because they are afraid to. I on the other hand am not afraid and will go through the steps in creating a winning article.

What is article writing?

Before I can teach you how to write an article, first you need to know what an article is and why an article is such an important tool for the online marketer. Because the article is a marketers multi-purpose traffic and sales generator. Through the use of articles you will get traffic through SEO.

Without traffic it doesnt matter how good your product or service is, without it your business dies. In your articles you will also use good pitching techniques to promote a product either your own or an affiliate product that will benefit the reader. Or perhaps you just want to build a list and are offering something of value for free.

Writing a good article that flows and articulates the benefits to what you are teaching or offering is priceless. Because both you and the reader will benefit. You will benefit by traffic flowing to your articles. The reader will benefit by gaining knowledge and being able to make a decision weather to follow your words or not.

Never the less learning how to write an article using the 7 steps I will give you will help you get to where you want to be in your writing skills.

The 7 Easy Steps How To Write An Article

Determine Your Title: Most people dont put any thought into there title. Big mistake, if you were looking at these titles which would catch your attention. (The Easiest Way To Choose Your Curriculum) (Making Your Curriculum Choice) (5 Questions To Ask When Choosing Curriculum) They all are about choosing curriculum but I think you would agree the first and third one are more appealing.

Write Your Opening: when writing your opening remember you have about 30 seconds to gra

the readers attention If it doesnt they wont read your article.

Answer A Question: What is_______? Just plug in your topic to the question then answer it. What is tennis strategy? What is virtual real estate? What is article marketing? Get the idea?

Can you show me an example of ________? Now the article is taking shape. We go from an introduction to an explanation and now we have an illustration. For example: Youve explained what article marketing is now give a scenario in which article marketing works.

How can I get started with __________? By this point the reader knows WHAT the topic is about and they know a basic use or function of the topic. Now, they need a simple explanation of how they can get started with application. How can they use the information?

Decide Upon A Close: There are two components of the article close that I think are necessities if you want to see any results from your efforts. The Spark, You want to leave the reader with a desire to get started. The Segway, The other thing you must do during your close is to lead into your resource box.

Create a Resource Box: Most people use a STANDARD resource box with each of their articles. In other words, its the same resource box regardless of what the article is about. Big Mistake. A carefully crafted resource box one that is specifically relevant to the article itself will outperform a standard resource box.

The important thing to remember is this:

Follow these easy 7 steps in how to write an article. Use the Yoast SEO plug-in for WordPress to help with the search engines. It will take a little practice to get good at article writing but if it were easy it wouldnt be fun!

Australia’s Howard calls for nativity scenes

Australia’s Howard calls for nativity scenes

By |

Sunday, December 18, 2005

Australia’s Prime Minister John Howard has made an impassioned plea to restore the religious meaning of Christmas.

Mr Howard said he had “contempt” for arguments that the religious side of the Christmas season should be toned down by removing Christmas trees and symbols and nativity scenes. He said he had been saddened by the removal of Christmas trees and nativity scenes from public places.

It is thought that the reason behind the removal of traditional Christmas scenes was so that non-religious people and those of other faiths were not offended. Mr Howard said “You don’t win tolerant brownie points by pretending to be something that you’re not”.

Backing Mr Howard, Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane John Bathersby said “We are a Christian country. If minorities are to integrate, they need something to integrate into. I don’t think there is any intolerance in saying, ‘This is who we are'”.

The president of the Islamic Council of Queensland, Abdul Jabal, said “We don’t celebrate Christmas but we support others doing so. It’s a time of peace and sharing”.

Opposition leader Kim Beazley used Mr Howard’s comments to attack the government’s industrial relations policy saying “I would say this to John Howard and to the Australian people about it, the biggest threat to Christmas in this country is John Howard’s extreme industrial relations law”. He added that people who wished to take time off work to celebrate Christmas have no rights to do so under the government’s industrial relations reforms.

100 icebergs heading for New Zealand

100 icebergs heading for New Zealand

By |

Saturday, November 4, 2006

About 100 icebergs are heading for New Zealand and a warning has been issued for ships in the Southern Ocean. The icebergs were spotted off the South Island of New Zealand by plane, Orion. However they are likely to melt before reaching New Zealand, but they may be visible from Stewart Island.

An Orion, a Royal New Zealand Air force plane, spotted the icebergs heading towards New Zealand when it was doing a routine fisheries patrol, south of the Auckland Islands, about 260 km away from Southland.

One of the longest of the hundred icebergs is said to be about 2 km long, 1.3 km wide and 120 m high. But seeing as most of the iceberg is underwater it is more likely around 1.2 km high.

Andy Nielsen, Royal New Zealand Air Force squadron leader, said that they “were surprised by the number of them and by how far north they were. We came across approximately 80 to 100 icebergs…what’s unusual about this is we located them about 130 nautical miles south of Stewart Island…we would expect to find the number we found around 600 nautical miles south of Stewart Island. They pose a significant maritime threat (as they are near a major shipping lane). The weather down there is deteriorating, visibility is low tonight in the majority of the southern area.”

The last time that an iceberg had been seen from the Mainland was in 1931 at Dunedin, even though icebergs do occasionally break away from Antarctica and head into the Southern Ocean. Mike Williams, physical oceanographer for the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, said: “The latest sighting may be seen from the Mainland if it gets a bit further north and comes closer in shore. The currents and the wind are likely to drive it north along the Southland and Otago coast.”

The icebergs are not being blamed on global warming or global cooling. Mr Williams said: “It has made it all the way to New Zealand is a fantastic rare event, but I don’t think we can draw any conclusions about changes in climate.”

Suicide bomber attacks Medina Mosque before Eid al-Fitr

Tuesday, July 5, 2016

Yesterday, a suicide attack was committed moments before sunset in the holy city in Medina, Saudi Arabia killing four officials and injuring five in Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the Prophet’s Mosque, the Saudi interior ministry said. Earlier yesterday, two Saudi cities Jeddah and Quatif suffered attacks. Pilgrims were praying before breaking their Ramadan fast.

36-year-old eyewitness Qari Ziyaad Patel told Associated Press he heard a blast just as the call to sunset prayers was ending and people were breaking their fast. At first it was widely mistaken for cannon fire traditionally signaling the end of daily fasting during Ramadan, but then they felt the vibrations through the ground.

Al Arabiya’s correspondent reported that after the explosion pilgrims offered prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque and no worshippers were injured in the suicide attacks. The Interior Ministry has identified the suicide bomber. According to them, Abdullah Waqar Khan was responsible for the attack. Waqar, they said, was born in Pakistan and had lived in Jeddah for the past twelve years.

The chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi condemned the attack and said, “Islam is innocent of these criminal acts that harvested safe lives and shed pure blood.” ((ar)) Arabic language: ??????? ???? ?? ??? ??????? ????????? ???? ???? ??????? ?????? ????? ?????? ??????.
